Body found in mielie field

It is suspected he was assaulted elsewhere and his body dumped in the field.

A murder case is under investigation by Brakpan police following the discovery of a body of a man in a mielie field on May 12.

Police were summoned to the scene in Leachville around 4am and found the body of an unidentified man.

“The victim had bruises on his back and head,” said Capt Pearl van Staad, spokesperson for the Brakpan SAPS.

“He was shirtless and wearing only a pair of brown jeans.

“Police believe the man was in his late 30s or early 40s and may be a Zimbabwean national.

It is suspected he was assaulted elsewhere and his body dumped in the field.
