Football season suspended

The local association also suggested that clubs suspend all training.

The coronavirus outbreak that has rocked the sporting world has hit many disciplines.

The football world is no different as the South African Football Association announced that matches would be postponed.

This has led to the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) suspending matches.

“Due to the coronavirus, the association has made a decision to suspend all football until further notice,” the ELFA said in a statement from chairperson Bruce King.

“This includes the Veterans and Ladies finals which would have taken place on Wednesday and Friday respectively.”

The Easterns Local Football Association has announced that the 2020 season has been suspended as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. This has meant that clubs such Brakpan Spurs have to wait longer than expected for their season to start. The season was scheduled to kick off on March 28.

The local association also suggested that clubs suspend all training.

This will mean that local clubs such as Brakpan Spurs and Dolphins will have to wait for some time before their league campaigns can get started.

The season was due to kick off on March 28 but the outbreak of the virus that has sent shockwaves around the world has put a stall to this.
