It is indeed a sad day for Brakpan as a landmark which has become synonymous with the town has served its last Dagwood and chips.
Operating since 1955, the Casbah Roadhouse has officially closed its doors and a decision was made to move the famous sign to other premises.
This was confirmed to the Herald by roadhouse management this afternoon.
The Casbah Roadhouse has for many years been a popular gathering place for young and old, and many Brakpan residents, as well as visitors from all over the country, have fond memories of the local eatery.
