Hirsch’s donates tree to school to celebrate Arbor Week

National Arbor Week is commemorated to raise awareness of trees and the important role they play in our environment.

In celebration of National Arbor week, Hirsch’s Carnival recently donated a pomegranate tree to Dalpark Private School.

Staff from Hirsch’s were assisted by Grade One learners in planting the tree on the school grounds.

Learners were informed about National Arbor Week, which is observed from September 1 to 7 annually.

It is commemorated to raise awareness of trees and the important role they play in our environment.

“When people wonder why Arbor Day is important they only have to look at the destruction and long-term damage that deforestation has on the environment to realise the issues are as important today as they have ever been. That’s why we feel it is so important to get young people involved in this important initiative,” said Chantelle du Plessis, Hirsh’s public relations officer.
