According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 3 to 4):

Cases reported:

• Theft: 2
• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Assault GBH: 1
• Sexual assault: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Crimen injuria: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Dealing in drugs: 3
• Use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent: 1
• Hijacking: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• House robbery: 1

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 4
• Shoplifting: 1
• Speeding: 2

Armed robbery:

• A teenager was robbed at gunpoint in Brenthurst.

The incident took place at 6.40am yesterday (Tuesday) at the corner of Olympia Road and Pienaar Street.

The victim (16) was cycling to school when a red Chevrolet Spark stopped in front of him.

A gunman alighted the vehicle and threatened the victim, demanding his cellphone.

Hijacking:

• The driver of a courier vehicle was hijacked in Dalpark Extension Six, yesterday.

Two men confronted the victim as he was returning to the vehicle after making a delivery at an address along Bottlebrush Street at about 11.20am.

He was forced into the back of the vehicle and driven to a secluded area, where the men were joined by an accomplice.

The trio loaded the delivery parcels from the courier vehicle into a silver bakkie.

The driver was robbed of his cellphone and locked in his company vehicle, which was left on the scene.

Business robbery:

• A company along Kitzinger Avenue was robbed by two men.

The robbers entered the premises around 5.30pm yesterday and held staff at gunpoint.

They fled with cash and a laptop.

House robbery:

• A domestic worker was held at gunpoint during a robbery at her employer’s Sunair Park home.

The victim, who also lives at the Colliery Road address, was watching TV around 8.30pm last night, when three men broke into the house.

After ransacking the home, the robbers made off with a TV, cellphones, jewellery and a laptop.
