Daily crime watch

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (July 30 to 31):

Cases reported:

• House robbery: 1
• Business burglary: 2
• Theft: 4
• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Speeding: 5
• Tampering with infrastructure: 1
• Pedestrian on freeway: 11
• Shoplifting: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1

Arrests:

• Speeding: 5
• Pedestrian on freeway: 11
• Deportation: 1
• Rape: 1
• Shoplifting: 2

House robbery:

• A Leachville family was robbed in their Umkomaas Avenue home during the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday) by three men.

The robbers broke into the house at about 2.45am and rounded up the family members at gunpoint.

One robber kept a watch over the victims, while the others ransacked the house.

They fled with TVs, cellphones, a microwave and other household items.

Armed robbery:

• A delivery man was robbed of his cargo in Leachville, yesterday.

The incident took place along Graskop Avenue around 12.45pm.

Two men threatened the victim at gunpoint when he stopped to make a delivery at the address.

The gunmen fled with a package that contained cooking pots valued at over R3 000.

Burglary:

• Greer Street, Vulcania (business).

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: Tools and other valuables.

• Voortrekker Road (business).

The burglary occurred on Monday.

Stolen: Cash, a laptop and a computer tablet.
