Spurs beaten in thriller

Olympia continued to put Brakpan under pressure and they eventually got their equaliser from an indirect free kick before half-time.

Brakpan Spurs rued their missed chances as they were beaten 3-2 by Olympia Football Club in an away Easterns League match.

Olympia started the match as the more dangerous side as they created the better chances. The first goal came against the run of play when Musa Mbhele brilliantly chipped the goalkeeper to give Spurs the lead.

The second half saw Spurs applying the pressure. It paid off when Lungelo Mathebula found the top corner from the edge of the box.

The team from Brakpan kept looking for more goals as they wanted to extend their lead but they kept missing chances.

Unfortunately for them they were caught by a counter attack which saw Olympia draw level for the second time in the match.

Olympia’s third also came against the run of play from a swift counter attack as Spurs came home empty handed.

The loss sees Spurs at eighth spot in league.
