Two behind bars for peddling drugs

Charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.

Two men found in possession of dagga, khat and nyaope, were arrested by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit in Tsakane on Sunday.

The drugs are valued at R5 000.

Acting on a tip-off, metro police members pounced on the pair at an address in Langaville Extension Eight and uncovered 39 packets of nyaope, two ziplock bags of khat, seven ziplock bags of dagga and one plastic bag containing loose dagga weighing 44 grams.

“Over and above, the pair was found in possession of hard cash amounting to R1 624, which was also confiscated,”said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

The men, aged 26 and 30, were detained at the Tsakane Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.
