Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Parts were stolen from a truck parked along Athlone Avenue in Dalview.

• Saturday – A home in Kingsway Avenue was burgled of a cellphone and cash.

* Tools, a battery charger and a battery were stolen from a residence in Gardiner Avenue.

* A man was robbed after withdrawing money at a bank at Mall@Carnival.

The victim was confronted by two gunmen as he returned to his car in the mall’s parking lot at 1.30pm.

After taking the money, the robbers instructed the victim to drive them to Springs.

They demanded more cash and the victim was forced to transfer money to a bank account.

The robbers then took the victim’s cellphone and fled.

• Sunday – Cash, cigarettes, cold drinks and other goods were stolen from a business along Station Road.

* Tools, gardening equipment and other valuables were stolen during a break-in at a home along Tinker Road in Brenthurst.
