Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A home along Rossouw Street in Minnebron was burgled of a laptop, passport and cellphones.

* A gang of men robbed a business situated along Carmyllie Street in Dalview around 7pm.

The men held staff members at gunpoint and fled with cash and other valuables.

* A portable hard drive device and laptop were stolen from a car parked at Mall@Carnival.

• Saturday – Batteries were stolen from a truck parked along Rangeview Road in Dalpark.

* A man was robbed of his cellphone and other belongings by two thieves along High Road.

The incident took place at about 11am.

* A Prince George Avenue shop was robbed by three men around 7.30pm.

The robbers, two of whom were brandishing firearms, helped themselves to cash, cigarettes and a cellphone.

• Sunday – Three gunman made off with cash and a cellphone after robbing a shop situated along Prince George Avenue.

They entered the shop around 8.30pm and threatened staff and customers.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – Cellphones were stolen during a break-in at a home in Stoffberg Avenue.
