Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 13 to 14):

Cases reported:

• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Business burglary: 2
• Theft: 2
• Malicious damage to property: 3

• Business robbery: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Residential burglary: 3
• Pointing a firearm: 1

Arrests:

• Theft: 4
• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• Trespassing and malicious damage to property: 3
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Armed robbery: 3
• Possession of drugs: 1

Armed robbery:

• A man was robbed of cash and a laptop by two men armed with guns at an address along Springs Road on Thursday, last week.

The incident took place at around 2pm.

Business robbery:

• A security guard was tied up and robbed by three men during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

The guard was patrolling business premises along Denne Road in Witpoort at around 1.20am when he was overpowered by the trio.

They bound the victim’s hands with shoelaces and fled with a cellphone, torch and laptop.

Burglary:

• Uranium Road, Vulcania (business).

The break-in took place on Saturday.

Stolen: A bandsaw.

• Park Street (business).

The burglary took place yesterday (Monday).

Stolen: Brass fittings and cleaning products. A suspect was arrested on the scene, but not all of the stolen items were recovered.

• Alliance Street, Withok Estates.

The home was broken into on Sunday.

Stolen: Two TVs.

• Devon Street, Dalview.

The break-in occurred yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, gaming console, laptop and external hard drive.

• Afrikaaner Road, Dalview.

The residence was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, external hard drive and clothes.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• A car parked at an address along Abercorn Avenue was broken into on Sunday.

A radio, personal documents and tools were stolen.
