Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A car parked at the corner of Dirk van der Hoff Street and Van der Walt Road in Dalview was broken into.

The break-in took place between 9.20pm and 10.45pm and a handbag and cellphone were stolen.

It is believed the culprit/s attempted to steal the vehicle as its ignition had been tampered with.

* A home in Graaf Road, Rand Collieries, was burgled of a TV, games console, sound equipment and a handbag.

• Saturday – Four men were arrested on the premises of the Brakpan Bowling Club along Kingsway Avenue after the club was broken into.

The suspects were nabbed at around 1.30am and the club had been stripped of electrical wires, plugs and copper pipes.

• Sunday – A TV, groceries, two iPads, cellphones, a kettle and other valuables were stolen from an address along Sports Way in Anzac.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – A black Motomia motorcycle was stolen from an address along Lapping Road in Brenthurst.

* A company along First Road in Vulcania was robbed by six armed men.

The robbers entered the premises at around 10.30pm and tied up two security guards and an employee.

Diesel, cash, cellphones and truck tyres were stolen.

• Speeding: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Illegal immigrants: 4
• Drunk driving: 1
• Theft: 4
• Housebreaking and theft: 4
• Possession of housebreaking implements: 1
• Possession of explosives: 1
• Malicious damage to property and domestic violence: 1
