Five injured in Brakpan crash

The cause of the collision is not yet known.

Five people were injured yesterday afternoon (Sunday) following a two-vehicle collision at the Airport Drive and R23 (Heidelberg Road) intersection near Mall@Carnival.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived at the scene to find the two vehicles in the middle of the road.

“Five people were found walking around at the scene,” he said.

“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two children, aged between 6 and 7, and three adults had sustained minor to moderate injuries.”

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to the Sunshine Hospital in Benoni and the Life Dalview Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were at the scene for further investigations.
