The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 20 to 21):

Business robbery:

• A construction site along 15th Road, in Sallies Village, was robbed by three men.

The robbers overpowered a security guard on the premises at around 3.15am, yesterday (Wednesday).

They tied the guard up with shoelaces and robbed him of his cellphone and cash.

The robbers broke into a workshop on the property and stole electric tools.

• Six men robbed a shop along Victoria Avenue, yesterday.

The robbers, one of whom was armed with a gun, walked into the store at around 8am and threatened staff members.

They fled in a white Volkswagen Caddy bakkie with cigarettes and cellphones.

Robbery:

A man was robbed by a driver from a private taxi service along the N17 highway in Brakpan on Sunday evening.

The victim was collected by the driver in a white Toyota Corolla at an address in KwaThema at about 11.30pm.

His intended destination was Fourways, but when they reached the highway on-ramp near Dalpark, the driver told the victim to hand over all his belongings.

The victim gave the driver his cellphone and wallet, which contained some cash.

He was told to get out of the car and the driver sped off.

Burglary:

• Middle Road, in Sonneveld (business).

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Speakers, cosmetics and a bag.

• Mynhardt Avenue, in Minnebron.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, games console, jewellery, laptops, clothes and other household items.
