The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 22 to 23):

Cases reported:

• Dealing in drugs: 3

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 3
• Possession of stolen property: 2
• Shoplifting: 1

House robbery:

• Cash and jewellery was stolen during a house robbery at an address along Waterval Road, in Leachville, last night (Tuesday).

Two men gained access to the house at around 7.30pm and threatened the home’s occupants at gunpoint.

Hijacking:

• The driver of a white Volkswagen Golf GTI was hijacked in Vulcania, last night.

The incident took place on the premises of a business along Lemmer Road, at around 7.50pm.

While parking the vehicle, the victim noticed a white BMW pull up behind him.

He got out of the car and a man armed with a gun approached him and demanded the car keys.

The victim was robbed of his cellphone and the hijacker took off in the Golf, with the BMW
following.

Robbery:

• A school learner was robbed of his schoolbag and laptop by two men at the corner of Cavendish Street and Victoria Avenue, yesterday.

The victim was confronted by the pair at about 1.45pm.

One of the robbers held the victim, while the other grabbed his bag.

The pair then got into a silver car and drove off.

Burglary:

• Trollip Street, in Brenthurst.

The break-in took place on Monday.

Stolen: An amplifier and speakers.
