Hijacking:
• The driver of a blue BMW 340i was hijacked at around 1.50pm in Dalpark Extension Six, yesterday (Tuesday).
The victim was waiting for a family member at an address along Etosha Avenue, when he was approached by a man armed with a gun.
He was instructed to get out of the car and the lone hijacker climbed in.
The hijacker was unable to start the vehicle and ordered the victim to do so.
He also struggled to put the car in reverse and had to ask the victim for assistance.
The hijacker then sped off.
Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:
• Three incidents of truck battery theft were reported.
The first took place at a workshop along First Street, in Vulcania, sometime between 5.30pm on Monday and 1.55am, yesterday.
Another was reported at an address at the corner of Seventh Road and Sixteenth Road, in Witpoort Estates.
The batteries were stolen yesterday at around 4.15am.
The third theft occurred at the corner of Lemmer Road and Witpoortjie Street, in Vulcania, this morning (Wednesday).
One battery was stolen from a truck parked on the premises, at about 1.20am.
