Flaming stuntmen to wow crowds at Carnival City

Enrico Schoeman will be set alight, after which he will ride a motorbike through two fire tunnels and crash through a burning billboard.

Thrilling high-octane action is expected at Carnival City this weekend.

Not only is the casino playing host to the third round of the SupaDrift National Series on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1, but veteran South African stuntmen Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock will perform a double motorcycle and car fire stunt.

The Superdrift series is expected to attract more than 30 of the country’s top drifters, in a variety of seriously mean, tyre-shredding cars.

They will tackle practice and qualifying sessions on Friday, with the competitive drifting programme to take place from 9.30am on Saturday.

When the drifting programme is finished at around 5.30pm, attention will shift to another part of the Carnival City parking lot for the fire stunt.

Schoeman will be set alight, after which he will ride a Gold Rand Harley-Davidson through two fire tunnels, crashing through a burning billboard at the end.

Seconds later, De Kock will crash a burning car through a pyramid of burning car wrecks.

Food and drink will be on sale at the venue or you can take your own, and Gold Rand Harley will exhibit a number of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

To watch the stunts is free of charge.

Spectators are reminded to take camping chairs and gazebos, to ensure they can watch proceedings in comfort.
