Weekend crime round-up

The victims were tied up and covered with a duvet.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two cars were stolen.

A grey Honda Ballade was stolen from Buxton Avenue, in Dalview, and a white Ford Bantam bakkie was stolen from the corner of Prince George Avenue and Kingsway Avenue.

* Tyres were stolen from a car parked at an address along Somerset Avenue, in Dalview.

* A home along Koos Vorster Street, in Minnebron, was burgled of a laptop.

* A domestic worker was tied up by two robbers at her employer’s house in Gericke Street, Minnebron.

The men arrived at the house at about 11.30am and told the woman they were there to drop off a parcel for her employer.

One of the men then pointed a gun at the woman.

The robbers ransacked the house and fled with jewellery, a television set, cosmetics, speakers, towels, bedding, an iPad, camera, as well keys to the house and a remote for the driveway gate.

The robbers were travelling in a white Ford Bantam bakkie.

• Saturday – Tools, jewellery and other valuable items were stolen from a car parked along Abercorn Avenue.

* Break-ins were reported at homes along Lakeside Road, in Dalpark, and Taft Avenue.

Two television sets, two laptops and two sets of car keys were stolen.

* A white Volkswagen Polo was stolen from the corner of Escombe Avenue and Elliot Street.

* A Dalview family fell victim to house robbers in their Glamorgan Avenue home.

Two robbers, one of whom was armed with a gun, gained entry to the home at around 1.15pm.

The victims were tied up and covered with a duvet.

Stolen items include two laptops, an iPhone and jewellery.

* A woman was robbed at the corner of Kaapmuiden Avenue and Bohemia Avenue, in Leachville.

The victim was waiting for a taxi at 5am and placed her laptop, a textbook and Gautrain card on the ground.

A man suddenly emerged from the nearby bushes and grabbed the items.

• Sunday – No information was received.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – A  business situated along Porter Avenue was broken into.

Security camera monitors were stolen.
