Oval competitors rock to the trophy

These competitors literally had the sparks flying, which made for spectacular racing.

A small yet fierce team of oval competitors took to the track at Rietkuil Raceway on Saturday, October 29, for the 2016 Interclub Challenge.

Teams from Brakpan’s Rock Raceway, Rietkuil Raceway, Richards Bay, Ultimate Raceway Vereeniging and Mahem Raceway ensured the spectators were entertained by top class oval motorsport.

Competing in the 1660, Pinto and Super Saloon classes, the team from the Rock Raceway proudly walked off with the Interclub Trophy.

The 1660 class was hotly contested, with Pieter Ferreira, Johan du Plessis and Franco Pretorius flying the Rock’s flag high.

Competitive, clean racing, despite fierce battles fought on track, won in this class.

Pinto class saw André Pitzer, Jan and Freek Buitendach and Frans van Dyk fighting the all out battle for top honours on the track.

These competitors literally had the sparks flying, which made for spectacular racing.

Johan Alberts Senior, Johan Alberts Junior and Bart Jones completed the team in the Super Saloon class.
