Metro comments on erratic refuse removal

This is now the fourth week that refuse has not been collected in Dalview as per the municipality schedule.
There is no explanation or communication from the municipality with regards to the non-collection on scheduled days.
Sometimes they come on Saturdays and collect the refuse, but not always.
I will continue to take my refuse to the municipality until they inform me of a revised schedule or resume their collecting of the refuse on Thursdays.
I do not see anyone else in town complaining so I must believe they are happy with the municipality.
Editor’s note: Comment was requested from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality and spokesperson Themba Gadebe responded as follows:
“Refuse in parts of Brakpan is currently collected on Saturdays, to address the backlog experienced in the area where refuse may have not been collected during the week,” he said.
“The City of Ekurhuleni will render the refuse collection service as per the calendar scheduled once the broken down trucks have been fully repaired.”
