Father and son (11) fall victim to house robbery

Four men gained access to the house just after 7pm and confronted the father.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A white Nissan Sentra was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

Two burglaries were reported.

These took place at addresses along Pythian Street, in Brakpan North, and Northdene Avenue.

Jewellery, a set of keys, a photo frame and personal documents were among the items reported stolen.

One man was later arrested in connection with the burglary in Pythian Street.

A motorist was robbed of his cellphone while stationary at the N17 off-ramp traffic lights.

Two security guards were robbed of their cellphones during a robbery at a construction site along Heidelberg Road.

The robbery took place just after 11pm.

The pair was approached by four men, one of whom was armed with a bolt cutter, who instructed them to lie down.

The guards were then searched and robbed of their cellphones.

Two of the men kept watch over the guards, while the other two broke into two containers.

It is not known what was stolen from the containers as police were still waiting for a list of the stolen items to be compiled.

The robbers fled in a green seven-ton truck.

• Saturday – A white Hyundai H100 was stolen from the corner of Park Street and Abercorn Avenue.

Burglars stole jewellery, a television set and a computer from a home along Barnard Street, in Brenthurst.

A man and his 11-year-old son were robbed in their home along Ergo Road, in Maryvlei.

Four men gained access to the house just after 7pm and confronted the father.

He was held at gunpoint and taken to a bedroom, where the robbers demanded money.

The men fled with keys to a motorbike, personal documents and R150.

A home along Escombe Avenue was burgled of television sets, a laptop, hard drives and other electronic equipment.

• Sunday – A Ford Laser (colour not provided) was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre.

Groceries, a wristwatch, a DVD player and a cellphone were stolen during a break-in at a home along Viking Street, Dalpark.
