Homeless in Brakpan empowered by NPO

Siyabonga Africa, a non-profit organisation, recently hosted a “Street to Feet” awareness campaign in Brakpan.

Siyabonga Africa’s Street to Feet Programme is aimed at rehabilitating and restoring homeless people; providing them with transitional housing and taking care of their primary needs, while giving them opportunities to learn and make improved life decisions.

The campaign is aimed at empowering homeless people in Brakpan by offering information on how they can access services rendered by different organisations, skills training centres and government institutions in Ekurhuleni.

They will be given information on where they can access help in terms of food, accommodation, counselling, medical assistance, safety and various other forms of help.

“The ultimate goal is to see these people off the street and on their feet,” said Tyrone Tsotetsi, project manager at Siyabonga Africa.

Various stakeholders were part of Siyabonga Africa’s Street to Feet campaign.
