Kings and queens of Royal Oak
About 130 members entered Royal Oak Country Club’s club championships over the weekend of March 5 and March 6.
Kenneth Dube, club professional and golf director, thanked all the members for the tremendous support shown and expressed his gratitude towards all the people who helped organise and put the event together.
“It was an absolute success,” Dube said.
“It was definitely one of the best club championships by far since I have been here at Royal Oak.”

Men:
A-Division: 1 Blain Sansom 141 gross, 2 Sello Tsubele 146 gross, best net overall: Christy Raper 138.
B-Division: 1 John Vogel 164 gross (victory on play-off), 2 Louis van Wyk 164 gross, best net overall: Andries Whiteman 137.
C-Division: 1 Ponsamy Reddy 74 points (victory on play-off), 2 Bruce McKenzie 74 points, 3 Robert Templeman 72 points.
Women:
A-Division: 1 Bongiwe Dube 165 gross, 2 Susan Hay 181 gross, best net overall: Sylvia Swart 165.
B-Division: 1 Cornelia Moller 189 gross, 2 Jeanette Ross 189 gross, best net overall: Elizabeth Sinclair 153.
C-Division: 1 Dawn Whiteman 62 points, 2 Hester Nell 57 points, 3 Madie Barresi 39 points.
