The Ekurhuleni Metro will not change its refuse removal schedule in the year 2016, following the adoption of a fixed calendar system.
It is, therefore, the responsibility of each household to familiarise themselves with the refuse removal schedule in order to know on which day refuse is to be collected.
Residents will be receiving colour-coded refuse removal calendars, which reflect the collection days for 52 weeks of the year.
Furthermore, waste collection services will be provided on all public holidays, except December 25, and this will result in a consistent service all year around.
The calendars will also be available in due course on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za.
Residents are urged to ensure that their bins are on the sidewalk by as early as 7am on collection day.
