Robbers strike at closing time

The shop's supervisor and a colleague were preparing to lock up when the robbers stormed inside.

Three armed men robbed a Dalview supermarket as it was closing for business on Tuesday night.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the shop’s supervisor and a colleague were preparing to lock up when the robbers stormed inside the supermarket, situated along Hendrik Potgieter Street, at about 9.15pm.

The robbers pointed guns at the pair and instructed them to lie down.

They were robbed of their cellphones and the robbers also made off with cash and cigarettes.

The robbers fled in a grey BMW sport utility vehicle.

A case of business robbery has been opened.
