SAPS aims for a crime-free Christmas

"The community can rest assured that we have everything in place to safeguard you," - Brig Johannes Manyathela.

Festive season message from Brakpan Police Station commander, Brig Johannes Manyathela:

“Another year has flashed by and we are standing at the door of a new year, with new goals and activities.

“Due to the grace of our Almighty God, no member at the Brakpan Police Station was killed in the line of duty.

“We did, however, lose one member, Const Neville Mbatha, who passed away in June.

“He will be missed, but will always be in our thoughts.

“Corruption is everywhere, but with pride it can be said that the majority of our members are doing everything in their power to make Brakpan a better place in which to live and work.

“This was evident during two events in which our members were rewarded, namely the Medal Parade, where several members were honoured for their loyal service, and the Prestige Awards, where our members were recognised for their outstanding performance.

“On behalf of management and members of the Brakpan police, we want to thank the community for their cooperation throughout the year – we need to take hands against crime.

“We wish all residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, and may God be with you at all times, either at home or on your journey to another province.

“Drive safely, refrain from drinking and driving, and please report crime.

“The community can rest assured that we have everything in place to safeguard you and your property during the festive season, as well as every day.

“Brakpan police want to send out a strong message to criminals – we will have zero tolerance towards crime, no matter how big or small the crime may be.

“We will do everything in our power to remove criminals from society, to be able to achieve a crime-free Christmas.”
