Firepower as big guns hit the oval
It has been touted as the “Battle of the Big Guns”, when the famous hotfoot brigade take to The Rock Raceway’s 400m oval circuit tomorrow (Saturday, November 14).
It might not be Christmas just yet, but lovers of rip-roaring rotary and V8 engines will feel like Santa Clause just dropped off early presents when some of the fan-favourites return to the track.
The V8 Ultimate Sprints from Vereeniging will need to bring their A-Game when they take on The Rock Raceway’s own V8 Outlaw Sprints in a high-speed dual.
Other favourites that will be competing on Saturday include Kids in Racing SA Ninja Class, 100ccc Micro Midgets, 125 Shifter Karts, Formula 2 Midgets, 1600 Stock Rods, 1660 Modified Saloons, Super Midgets, V8 Lexus Class, 2.1l Pinto Class, Super Saloons and Formula N circuit racing.
Boksburg hotrod driver Brenden James will be celebrating his 16th birthday and he has invited fellow hotrod drivers from all over to race against him.
The Super Midgets Rotary Group will also square up against the piston-powered Super Midgets, in a head-to-head battle for a podium position.
