Man will spend 15 years in jail after killing his girlfriend
A 32-year-old man, who was found guilty of murder after he killed his girlfriend, was recently sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
On June 19, 2013, Tefo Makaela was involved in an argument with his girlfriend, after which he stabbed her in the arm and chest.
He then stabbed himself in the chest, but survived.
The body of the woman, Kgomotso Marose (23), was found after the police barged into an outside room in Rangeview Road, Dalpark Six. Makaela was arrested on the scene.
On October 28, 2015, Makaela was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment when he appeared in the Brakpan Regional Court, and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The investigating officer in the case was Det Sgt Morné du Plessis.
