Justice for Jasmin-Lee

Almost two years after the gruesome rape and murder of a beautiful, blonde four-year-old girl, the man accused of murdering her will, at last, have his day in court.

The murder accused of Jasmin-Lee Pretorius will stand trial in the Pretoria High Court from Monday (November 9 to 13.)

The man (he is her uncle) is accused of raping and murdering the toddler.

After the unthinkable deed he apparently stuffed her lifeless body under a bed, while police and the community frantically searched for her.

Her body was eventually found under a bed in the home of her father, Morné Pretorius, in Suenet Flats, on Saturday, December 28, 2013.

She had been reported missing earlier that day.

Jasmin, who lived with her mother, Sasha-Lee Bam, in Kempton Park, was picked up by Morné the previous day, to spend the weekend with him.

The gruesome murder sparked an outcry and hundreds of angry residents gathered and protested at the Brakpan Magistrates Court when the accused appeared for the first time.

Chaos erupted and the police had their hands full controlling the massive crowd, most of whom were wearing pink clothing.

A large group of protesters also bayed for the blood of the accused when he appeared in court for the second time.

The case was later moved to the High Court in Delmas, after which it was moved to the High Court in Pretoria.

The accused has also undergone mental observation at Weskoppies.
