Man appears in court for allegedly raping and kidnapping a child

The man was arrested on Monday evening for allegedly kidnapping the girl from her mother’s house in Brakpan and also raping her.

It is alleged the man took the girl, without the mother’s consent, to Vereeniging during the first week of June, where he allegedly raped her several times.

The suspect eventually dropped the girl off about two blocks from her mother’s house and fled.

The possibility that the man forced the girl to use drugs and alcohol is also being investigated. The victim was taken to Germiston and medical tests were conducted.

The Child Protection Unit Brakpan Cluster is investigating.
