Destroying facilities is like cutting off your nose to spite your face

Huntingdon resident writes: As a resident in Huntingdon, I'm upset and concerned about the vandalism that took place in the park on Monday, July 6.

My son and I visit the park on a daily basis to make use of the facilities provided.

On Sunday, the wooden play house was intact, with children sitting inside.

On Monday, we returned to find the park badly vandalised.

I know it is school holidays and children are bored, but destroying the facilities is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

There are broken glass bottles everywhere and even the adjoining houses are dumping their garden rubbish over their walls.

Vehicles also enter the park, which is supposedly prohibited.

Personally, I was thinking of approaching the council and asking for permission to install a boot camp course for the community to use and get into shape.

After seeing the park on Monday, I’m sceptical about the idea, as this is what the youth does to the facilities that are provided for their use.
