Theft of motorbikes on the rise
Brakpan police are appealing to local motorcycle and scooter owners to be cautious, following a recent rise in the theft of these vehicles.

The SAPS has urged owners to ensure their bikes are properly secured whenever they are parked.
“Make use of chains and locks if you have to,” said Capt Joep Joubert, spokesperson for the Brakpan Police Station commander.
“If you don’t have a garage, keep the vehicle out of sight or covered.
“When you park at the mall, make sure it’s close to the entrance or where the car guards can see the vehicle.
