The farce that is a load shedding schedule

''Anonymous'' writes by e-mail: The account below is not the first of its kind, nor do I believe it will be the last, so alas here we are.

Brakpan North was without power on Thursday morning, June 18, for around three hours, although, on scheduled time, Eskom had not implemented load shedding yet, so for the sake of argument we will refer to reasons unknown.

On the evening of that Thursday, we were load shed from 5.36pm to 10.43pm; we were not scheduled to have load shedding.

Some of my clients reside in Minnebron and, as far as I can determine, they were not load shed; I may be wrong, so please feel free to correct me, even though that area was scheduled for it.

Power supply was interrupted again on Friday morning, June 19. Now I do not believe we are the only area to experience the wrath of the Technician.

By all means, try to call the call centre to determine why the area is being load shed; this is confirmed by the call centre as ”an area experiencing load shedding”; when not on schedule or Eskom have no load shedding scheduled at that time, all you get is ”because the Technician said so”.

Now Mr Technician, with the force of seven million legions behind you, you install that kind of fear in the poor call centre personal so that they will not question your decision to disregard the schedule that was set up to make it more convenient to the poor sods paying for electricity, and hence, in some way contribute to you having the job you are currently holding. Kindly supply us with your schedule as well.

Far be it from us to hold the amicable, all powerful technicians in any disrepute.

Could Ekurhuleni kindly clear up if the load shedding schedule is only a loosely practiced crayon drawing, because currently Twin Savers offers more value to the paper.
