Not pleasant to live in Minnebron anymore

Minnebron resident writes: I would like to comment about the state of Minnebron.

The street lights in Kalk Street and Desfountain Crescent have been burning 24/7 for the last six months, yet we have load shedding sometimes twice a day.

The mini substation has been open for the last six months, which is a danger to the children who like to play in the street.

There is a huge hole on the corner of Brink Street and Desfountain Crescent, which has been dug open by the municipality to repair a water leak, and still, to this day, the hole has not been closed.

We would like to know what is going to be done about the dust problem in our area as it is affecting many people’s health. The dust is blowing off the mine dumps near Minnebron.

Not only is it affecting people’s health, but swimming pools are also getting damaged as well as the corrugated roofing on the houses.

We have lived in this area for the past 30 years and we have never experienced this kind of pollution.
