Police pounce quickly on business robbers

Two armed suspects, who allegedly robbed a clothing store in Voortrekker Road this morning, were arrested in Benoni CBD after they crashed their vehicle.

Four suspects, who allegedly robbed the clothing store earlier today, were armed with handguns and a shot was fired, but no one was injured by it.

The suspects, driving a white Toyota Camry down Victoria Avenue, Benoni,  crashed into another car with two occupants,  at 11.15 am on the corner of Tom Jones Street and Victoria Avenue.

The driver of the second vehicle, a Rynpark Five resident, was with her 84-year-old female friend in the car when the accident happened.

The 84-year-old was moderately injured and transported to Sunshine Hospital.

Police arrested two of the suspects at the intersection and are still looking for two other suspects that were involved in the robbery.
