The Brakpan SAPS Anti-Hijacking Task Team has done it again.

The team, who are renowned for nabbing dangerous criminals, arrested 12 suspected hijackers and armed robbers, last week.

On Friday evening, the team arrested eight suspected hijackers and armed robbers, in Tsakane.

They also recovered three suspected hijacked vehicles (a Jeep Compass, Toytota Hilux bakkie and a Nissan Hardbody bakkie).

Upon further investigation, it was established that the suspects, aged between 27 and 44 years old, could be linked to three hijackings in Tsakane, one in Reiger Park, Boksburg, and another in Heidelberg.

In addition to this success, four suspected hijackers were arrested by the team in Benoni, on Wednesday, last week.

Signal jammers, which are used by criminals to block the signal to remote devices, police uniforms, and other goods were also found at the address in Daveyton.

The Brakpan Anti-Hijacking Task Team took top honours at the Gauteng Provincial Prestige Awards, in October, and were the winners in the “Operational Team of the Year” category.
