A Leachville family’s quiet evening at home was disturbed when they fell victim to house robbers in their Numbi Avenue home on Monday night.
According to Brakpan police, two gunmen entered the house at around 20:50 and threatened the family who were watching TV together.
The victims were instructed to be quiet and to remain seated. One of the intruders claimed he had been sent to kill a particular family member.
He told this victim that he wouldn’t do so in return for cash. After searching the house, the robbers fled with cash, cellphones and a TV.
Money was also transferred from one of the victim’s bank account using a mobile banking app.
A case of house robbery is under investigation by local SAPS.
