Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from August 25 to 27.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

Friday – A white Ford Ranger was stolen from Voortrekker Road.

Saturday – A brown Volkswagen Polo was stolen from the corner of Kitzinger Avenue and Park Street.

• A home in Johan Street, Sunair Park, was burgled of a TV, a gaming console, jewellery and cellphones.

• A battery was stolen from a car parked at an address along Queen Avenue.

Sunday – Camera equipment, tools, a drone and other valuables were stolen during a break-in at a home in Tafelboom Street, Leachville.

• The driver of a Ford Figo was robbed of her vehicle in Brenthurst at around 11:30.

The woman pulled into the driveway of a friend’s house along De Wet Street when a man appeared on the passenger side and opened the door.

He pointed a gun at the victim and was joined by an accomplice who opened the driver’s side door.

This man pulled the victim out of her car, threw her to the ground and kicked her. A third man joined in on the assault and hit the victim.

Two of the men drove off in the victim’s car while the third fled in a black Volkswagen Polo.

A firearm, a cellphone, cash and a handbag were stolen along with the car.
