Slap fighter wins debut fight, seeks sponsors

The Brakpan Central resident wants to become serious about the emerging sport but needs some financial support.

Brakpan Central resident Pieter Vorster (53), known as Bulldog, debuted on the slap fight scene on April 1, winning his first match. This debut match was held at Mustangs in Nelspruit and was dubbed a crowd favourite.

Vorster competes in the super heavy category and is part of the Punisher Club in Brakpan. One of Slap Fight SA’s founders, Bobby Kirsch, was initially affiliated with Ultimate Slapfight SA but has now opened his own club.

Fighters don’t yet get paid for winning matches, though the sport hopes to change that soon, so Vorster is looking for sponsors willing to help him with supplements and gym membership.

When he has to travel for a fight he needs travel costs, accommodation and food sponsored. He next fights on August 26 against Alex Biggy at the Bar With No Name in Sasolburg.

For reservations, contact Kirsch on bobby.krisch@sanjo.co.za, using the fighter’s name as a reference.

To sponsor Vorster, contact his wife, Marlise Vorster, on marlise.vorster@gmail.com They will stream the fight live on TikTok (@pieterbulldogvorster).
