Brakpan police are calling on members of the public to help identify a man whose body was found over a month ago.
As reported in the Brakpan Herald’s February 3 edition, the man’s body was found behind a petrol station at the corner of Paul Kruger and Main Reef roads in Kingsway on January 25.
An EMPD officer, who was conducting traffic stops at the intersection at around 12:30, was approached by a woman who informed him about the body.
Upon investigation, he found the body on a gravel road in the veld.
The deceased, estimated to be in his 40s, had a gunshot wound and another wound assumed to have been caused by a sharp object.

He was dressed in a black and green jacket, black tracksuit pants, black shoes and had a blue cloth mask around his neck.
According to local SAPS, no one has come forward to identify him or report him missing.
An inquest docket was opened and police are appealing to anyone with information which may help the investigation to come forward.
