Hospital observes World Prematurity Day with reunion event

A moment was taken to show compassion and support to all of those who experienced the journey of having a preemie baby in the NNICU.

The Life Dalview Hospital held a reunion event to celebrate World Preemie Day.

World Prematurity Day is a global movement to raise awareness of premature birth and celebrate those brave and wonderful preemies who fought like lions. It is observed on November 17.

According to the World Health Organisation, around 15 million preterm births occur globally each year.
This year the theme was Zero Separation! Act Now!

Families whose premature babies were in the neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital for the past year were invited to tea.

The families enjoyed meeting each other and it was wonderful to show the babies at birth and see how big and healthy they have grown.

The hospital sent a heartfelt thanks to Sr Megan Strauss and her team for making the day a success, and to the beautiful babies who made the day even more special.
