Burial days to remain the same under level three lockdown

The maximum number of burials per day per cemetery is 14.

The City of Ekurhuleni has operational measures in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 during burials.

The measures are based on Covid-19 prevention protocols of regular sanitisation or handwashing, maintaining social distancing, and wearing masks.

Restrictions on access to the City’s cemeteries remain unchanged under the adjusted alert Level three of the lockdown.

This has not been affected by the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa this past Sunday.

These are the measures in place:

• Burials will take place seven days a week including Sundays and public holidays.

• The maximum number of people allowed per funeral is 50.

• The maximum number of burials per day per cemetery is 14.
