Enjoy a celebration of women

Doek on Fleek returns to Carnival City.

The popular Doek on Fleek lifestyle movement ventures to Carnival City on March 21, fittingly during International Women’s Month.

The event, fashioned along the lines of the highly successful Doek on Fleek All White Picnic held across the country every week, will showcase the products and services of some of the region’s enterprising female entrepreneurs.

Ladies are invited to round up their friends for a spectacular day of entertainment, networking, picnicking, sharing and fun.

Women are called to dress up in white and rock their head wraps for this special event.

Get ready to enjoy a celebration for women by women at the Carnival City Festival Lawns.

The brainchild of social activist Nomthandazo Thandi Mavata, the Doek on Fleek movement is turning the “Pull her down” mentality on its head, encouraging women to empower each other.

This movement has taken place through a series of regular gathering that attract up to 8 000 women at a time, in different cities and towns.

At these meetings, where the wearing of a doek is mandatory, women receive life coaching, business grooming, career advice, and are encouraged to support each other’s businesses.

The event starts at noon.
