Fifty new firefighters have joined the ranks of the City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services’ emergency division.
According to emergency services spokesperson William Ntladi, due to vacancies created by promotions and resignations, the city appointed members of the department’s reserve force into these permanent positions.

They were all given their rank markings and were welcomed into the service by the executive manager of operations, Lifty Ngoepe, standing in for the divisional head of emergency services Mhlengi Makhubalo.
