Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A trailer was stolen from Heidelberg Road (R23), near Van Eck Park.

The trailer had a puncture and the complainant parked it on the side of the road and left to have the tyre repaired.

When he returned to the scene, the trailer was gone.

* Staff at a clothing store in the Mall@Carnival were held at gunpoint by two robbers.

The incident took place around 10.55am and the robbers fled with cellphones and other undisclosed items.

* Four men were arrested after a house robbery at an address along Rossouw Crescent in Minnebron.

* A blue Kawasaki motorbike was stolen from a locked garage at an address along Prince George Avenue.

* A home in Satara Avenue in Leachville was burgled of cash.

• Saturday – Laptops, a TV and other valuables were stolen during a break-in at a house along Soetdoring Street in Dalpark.

* A business in Gardiner Avenue was burgled of computer equipment.

• Sunday – A security guard was robbed of his belongings by three men.

The victim was confronted by the trio as he was walking home from work along Springs Road, Witpoort Estates, around 6am.

They threatened him with a gun and searched him, taking his wallet, cellphone and firearm.

* A couple was robbed of their jewellery by two men posing as door-to-door salesmen.

The pair was welcomed into the couple’s Victoria Avenue home at about 10.40am after showing up at the door.

Once inside, the robbers threatened the couple with a gun and demanded their jewellery.

They fled, leaving behind the items they were “selling”, which included a mirror and a pillow.

* The proprietors of a shop in Goods Road were robbed by two men.

The robbers entered the shop around 3pm and held the three brothers at gunpoint.

They fled with cash, personal documents and a cellphone.
