VIDEO: Women spend an inspirational morning with Margaret Hirsch

Margaret's rise to success was not an easy one.

Women entrepreneurs from within the Brakpan community gathered at Hirsch’s Carnival on Thursday morning for the store’s monthly ladies networking session with Margaret Hirsch as guest speaker.

Coming from a humble background to co-founding and running a multi-million rand appliance and electronic business, Margaret inspired the large group of women in attendance.

Margaret’s rise to success was not an easy one.

The chief operations officer of the Hirsch’s group shared her story with the guests and left everyone feeling inspired.

From spending some of her childhood in foster care and working in a hairdressing salon at age 12, to being fired for being pregnant and starting her first business with just R900, her resilience has been instrumental to the empire she’s built.

Margaret and her husband Allan started their first home appliance repair and maintenance shop and today Hirsch’s is a multi-million rand business with 22 branches across the country.

According to Margaret, you can either work for someone and make a living or you can work for yourself and make a fortune.

Margaret shared her tips and tricks on how to improve your life and reach your goals.

Her main tip for the attendees was for them to have clear visible goals.

“God gives you a little money to test you. If you waste it, he stops giving it to you. If you spend it wisely, he gives you more,” she explained.

After Margaret’s talk, each of the networkers were given the opportunity to present themselves and their business in a 30-second ‘elevator pitch’, followed by refreshments, some lucky draws, networking and sharing of business cards.
