EMPD cracks down on repeat offender

Police confirmed the woman was out on bail at the time of her latest arrest.

Getting arrested is becoming something of a habit for a 43-year-old woman suspected of being a drug dealer.

The woman, who was nabbed in Brakpan on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics on January 13, found herself in handcuffs again a week later.

The Herald reported in last week’s edition, “Woman nabbed for dealing in drugs”, how members from the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit found the woman, who operates from an address along Currey Street, in possession of mandrax and dagga with an estimated street value of R2 500.

Acting on information received, the members returned to the address on Sunday and again arrested the woman.

“She was found in possession of narcotics with an estimated street value of R4 000 and almost R300 in cash,” said acting EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

“On searching the well-known house, the Drug Enforcement Unit members came across 30 mandrax tablets, 70 ziplock bags of dagga, as well as 16 packets and one plastic bag of dagga with a quantity of over 2.5kg.”

Brakpan police confirmed the woman was out on bail at the time of her latest arrest.
