Task team prevents possible robbery

“I would like to commend these members for being the shield of the community.”

The Brakpan Task Team has been commended for thwarting a possible house robbery at an address along Grobler Street in Brenthurst during the early hours of Friday morning.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the team “appeared out of nowhere” and pursued four suspects travelling in a white C-Class Mercedes-Benz into KwaThema.

The team, which is made up of Const Elwin Davis, WO Sonja Roos, WO Jan Roos and Const Jacques Vivier, has been praised for preventing what could have been a horrific incident.

“To this effect, I would like to commend these members for being the shield of the community against the scourge of crime that is threatening our existence and for rebuilding the confidence of our communities’ faith and trust in our police service,” said Dr Reza Patel, executive chairperson of the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster Community Policing Forum.
