Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Batteries were stolen from a truck parked at an address along Seventh Avenue in Withok Estates.

* Three cars were stolen – a gold Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen from the parking area of Makro Carnival, a red Nissan 1400 bakkie was stolen from 12th Road in Vulcania and a BMW 320i (colour not provided) was stolen from Carnival City.

• Saturday – A woman was robbed of her handbag at Mall@Carnival.

The incident took place at around 3.30pm when a woman grabbed the bag from the victim’s shoulder and ran off.

The bag’s contents included a cellphone and cash.

* A car trailer was stolen from an address along Boland Street in Withok Estates.

* A grey Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen from Makro Carnival.

• Sunday – A bag containing keys, ID documents, clothes and a cellphone was stolen from a car parked along Wenden Avenue.

* A green Nissan 1400 bakkie was stolen from Voortrekker Road.

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Dealing in drugs: 1
• Assault GBH: 2
• Theft: 4
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Drunk driving and reckless driving: 1
• Speeding: 10
• Shoplifting: 2
• Tampering with/damaging infrastructure: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
