Two bodies discovered

The bodies of two men were found in separate incidents in Brakpan last week.

The first body was found on Friday in the veld near Coert Steynberg Street, in Van Eck Park, by workers from a nearby factory.

Brakpan police were called to the scene and, according to local SAPS spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad, the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.

She told the Herald the man was in his 60s and was wearing denim pants and a black Puma jacket.

Two pairs of brown shoes were found near his body.

On Sunday, the body of a man in his 20s was found in the veld near New Kleinfontein Road, in Leachville.

“He was found face down and had a wound on his neck,” said van Staad.

The man was wearing a purple T-shirt, blue pants, black Puma tekkies and an Avon wristwatch with a brown strap.

Police are appealing to anyone with information which may help the investigation to come forward.

The detective branch can be contacted on 011 744 7100.
